Detailed plans and sections were prepared, and a written
specification created. Contractors were invited to tender
for the main construction work. A brickwork and
groundwork specialist was selected, and the other work,
electrical, under floor heating etc, was carried out by
nine other specialised contractors all supervised by

The brickwork contractor advised complete demolition
and rebuild of the rear corner of the new dining room,
with the roof over temporarily supported. The steel
work was then fitted and the parapet walls rebuilt.
The lead lean to roof was then built, and then finally
the glazing installed.
B u d g e t
dixon-design were given a budget of £80,000 for
all the construction and fitting out, including the
kitchen. Work was completed within this budget.
